State Registered Nurses

girl_injectionThe nurses are directly accessible by all patients for nursing care and advice. They routinely carry out a variety of procedures including
  • immunisations
  • travel vaccinations
  • cervical smear tests.

They also hold special clinics for the routine care of patients with asthma, diabetes and coronary heart disease. 

Minor Illness Clinic

Every Monday Allison King runs a Minor Ailment Clinic from our Roche surgery.  Allison can discuss and treat a number of common minor problems.  You may be referred to the clinic by the Duty Doctor or you may request an appointment yourself if you are suffering from any of the following conditions:

  • Common Viral Illness (coughs & colds)
  • Sore throat
  • Eye Conditions
  • Rashes and other infectious diseases
  • Emergency Contraception
  • Hayfever


Health Care Assistants

They are trained in routine procedures including
  • blood tests
  • recording BPs
  • ECGs.

District Nurses

giving_baby_drugsDistrict Nurses provide any necessary nursing care and advice for patients too ill or frail to attend the surgery and for certain other patients whose treatment is better carried out in the home environment. Community Midwives who work closely with our doctors to provide care for expectant mothers, new mothers and their babies in the first 2 weeks of life. Health Visitors who are especially trained Community Nurses and Midwives are available for advice to the parents of children under the age of 5 years, and also to those over 75 years of age.
